A Night Out in South Tampa
We always say jokingly that we work & play in St. Pete but sleep in South
Tampa. Actually we have lived in South Tampa since 1984 & love it there.
The Male Room was our first stop. Where do all those Hot Men (and we do
mean Men) come from? We couldn't help but notice that in the men's room the
same "out of order sign" is still on the urinal from Angels days 5 years ago.
And who were those Silly Queens trying to steel the Christmas decoration?
Congrat's John on selling your Virginia home and moving back to Tampa.
Over at Baxter's the Christmas Spirit was high. Wreaths and decorations
are always fabulous. Is it just me or is there something familiar about the
wall paper? Step out their back door for a surprise. Yes, the old City Side
building is gone, but that darn fence is still standing! How many times have we
all
walked all the way around that fence or thought about driving the car thru
it? Back inside Angelo's lover Allen was as gracious as always.
A packed house over at CS (City Side). Over the bar hangs a huge wreath
(Size Queens)! Where you buy something that big? As we looked at all the
Abercrombie & Fitch www.abercrombie.com and dark colors in the crowd, it
reminded us
of the old question. Why did the guys in South Tampa stop having group sex?
Because there were just too many thank you notes to write! Outside on the
patio we met some interesting straight couples. One of the wives announced
"Welcome to South Tampa where the husbands are Gay!" What in the "H" "E" double
tooth pick is she talking about?
The cars were parking a block away from Metropolis, humm that can only
mean one thing, Jack, Alan,Tom & George were all busy working! So we passed and
went on to the KiKiKi. They have the best floor show in town! Walk in, grab a
chair and see for yourself. The manager, Stevie, aka "Pussy" is one of the
nicest guys you will ever meet, just don't get him mad! The party boys will keep
you laughing with all their drama and pool table skills. Sooner or later
everybody in Tampa goes here. Did you know that they have the best juke box in
town, with all hand picked music by Pussy.
Here is one more South Tampa trivia question. What dose "LIST Realty"
stand for?
Land In South Tampa.
Rumor Control
To the people who insist that the Suncoast Resort has been sold and is to be
knocked down to make way for a Walmart. COME ON GIRLS, THIS IS NOT TRUE!
Walmart has purchased the Ramada Inn, south and across the street, at 3601 34th
Street South and has already demolished it. Now let's give some credit to where
credit is due.
To the Suncoast Resort & The Merchants & All the Employees, Congratulations
For:
(1) Being the largest Gay owned and operated company and employer in the
State of Florida. (2) For the huge economic impact on the bay area. (3) Giving
back to the community 10's of 1,000 of dollars over the past 6 years. (4) Show
casing the bay area to 1,000's of tourist each year. (5) For putting the bay
area on the Gay & Lesbian World Map (6) Sponsoring huge conventions and
events... example; Classic Car Shows, Leather Fests, Health Fairs, PWA's, Bears
& More
(7) For the Largest Gay & Lesbian Mall, including MC Film Pride Shop, Graphic
Traffic, David Reynold's Jewelry, What2Wear, Howard Art Gallery, The Hair
Salon, The Massage, A.S.A.P., Seattle Coffee Shop, The Antique Shop, Balls of
Steel, Tampa Bay Leather Company, and The Suncoast Theater. All of these
businesses give and support the community! So the next time you start to spread
viscous rumors and blatant lies, remember your not just hurting a few people,
but
1,000's, and the whole Gay & lesbian Community!
The Platform had men cheek to cheek again!
They were having a TLW 's 'Cover Boy Party' and it was out of control again!
Just the way we like it! Congratulation to our favorite leather man, Rodger
Alford who won "Leather Cover Man of the Year"! Also spotted was short shaved
head Chris, he really should be on "The Jerry Springer Show!"
Bar Talk
Last week two landmark St. Petersburg bars changed hands "The Blue Moon
Salon" & "Sharp A's" that's not so unusual but both were purchased by straight
people. What's up with that?
