New Gay Restaurant & Bar Opens
Now open, "The Kizmet Steaks and Lounge" located at 1101 1st Ave N., St Petersburg. The opening night celebration was WILD! The owner, Art brought in 13 performing acts for opening night! There were: cabaret singers, jugglers, strippers, belly dancers, flag twirlers & bands. At one point it looked a like the crazy antics of the Gong Show. Our favorite performer was Judy B. Goode, of course! What a Great Asset to the St. Petersburg community. The decor was modern, up scale and fresh. The food looked OK. We waited 2 hours for a table and then we decided to eat elsewhere that night. Stop by and check The Kizmet out for yourself.
Congratulation & Good Luck to Art & Staff.

 Ritzy Rags

Any trip to Orlando is not complete without a stop at Ritzy Rags! We walked into the doors and were once again warmly greeted. Then we learned that Bartender Dave from the Suncoast Resort, Mike & Gary had all just been there too! Leigh has done wonderful new things to her store. The wig selection is the best in town. There were many new clothes and even a new make-up area. For us, the best part is the shoes!!!!! WOW what a selection! Visit the store on line at http://www.ritzyrags.com
Then it was off to the P-House where they were getting ready for Colt Men Weekend. Mark your calendars now for Monday, October 16th. We will be celebrating Mark 50th Birthday that night at the P-House. Next doors at the Full Moon Salon there were many more familiar faces! And the neon at the top of the rafters, Point Beer, is from Carrie's hometown, Stevens Pont, Wis. Beer drinkers say," when you are out of POINT, you are out of town!" We were in Orlando's Universal Studios to spend time with our partying CPA nephew, Brent visiting from Madison, WI.

You will decide if the people who promote equality or those who propose discrimination will represent you in the county, in Tallahassee and in Washington DC.

Now, more than ever, it is important that each and every one of us become an informed voter and vote to elect fair-minded individuals to public office.

Equality Florida and the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) are proud to sponsor the

Circus McGurkis is coming October 28!

Circus McGurkis Basic Information:

When:   Saturday, October 28 (Rain Date, November 4)

Where:  Dell Holmes Park (formerly Lakeview Park)
on the north side of Lake Maggorie in St. Petersburg.

What is Circus McGurkis?
Circus McGurkis
is an alternative people’s fair. It is an arts, crafts, music, games and ideas fair with a special focus on activities for children and families of all ages and types.
Show and sell your handiwork.  Share your creative/performing skills.  If you have a service or advocacy organization, come share your work and ideas with the community.  Each year, Circus is what its participants make it — a festival of many colors, shapes, rhythms, tastes and activities.  We are proud to celebrate our 35th year of existence with the 2006 celebration.

Who Sponsors Circus McGurkis?
Circus is sponsored by the St. Petersburg Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends - The Quakers.  The Quakers in general - and the St. Petersburg Meeting in particular - have a long history of embracing diversity.  Quakers have believed in equality of the sexes since our inception in England in the 1700s.  Our meeting and many others advocated racial equality long before the civil rights struggle began in the 1950s, being one of the first religious groups to oppose slavery.  In the 1960s we were the first religious entity to speak out against the Vietnam War.  Today, we continue the struggle for equality and social justice by speaking out on issues affect the GLBT community, reducing violence in our society and efforts to promote peace in our community and around the world.

Because we are lead by individual spiritual development rather than direction from a pulpit, our members have extraordinarily different spiritual beliefs and backgrounds, but we share five common testimonies which shape our core values:  Simplicity.  Peace.  Integrity.  Community.  Equality. (SPICE)

Can I have a booth at the Circus?
Yes!  Booth Guidelines - Circus McGurkis is a celebration of diversity, but we do have a few guidelines and limitations for booth displays.  We prefer that vendors display/sell handmade items, preferably made by the people at the booth.  Non-profit groups may sell items such as bumper stickers, buttons, etc.  Children are especially encouraged to set up a booth to display and/or sell their crafts, creative writing, etc. (there is no charge for children).

Circus McGurkis is not a flea market!  The sale of garage-sale stuff and new manufactured items is unacceptable.  The organizers of Circus will decide if a display is in keeping with the event.

Super Affordable!
Pre-registration booth fees (on site fees $10 higher)
• For profit Sales and/or Display - $35.00
• Non-profit Sales - $20.00
• Non-profit Display Only - $10.00
• Children’s booths - Free, but pre-registration is still a good idea.
The fee includes all licensing.

You may register using the attached form or right online at www.circusmcgurkis.org.

Please join us...either by becoming a vendor or by attending.

Peace be with you,

Greg Stemm

This is really interesting, read the following carefully.

The following is a picture taken directly above these camels in the desert at sunset.  It is considered one of the best pictures of the year.  Look closely, the camels are the little white lines in the picture.  The black you see are just the shadows!!
