Good Bye 2006
......
Hello 2007

What a year 2006 was! The highlights had to be all the community
events. The 1st Tampa Winter Pride, The St. Pete Pride,
the movie "Brokeback Mountain" party at Tampa Theatre, The Tampa
International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, Key West's Pride In Exile,
The Suncoast Resort Turn-a-bout, The High Heel Hike, Art For Life,
ronda storms NOT on Hillsborough County Commission, all the new clubs
& restaurants (especially Wrangler's, G. Bar, Viper Room, King & I
Thai Restaurant) & all the clubs, organizations & bar
fundraiser's. St. Petersburg, Tampa & the Bay area is indeed a
community of loving & sharing people! It is no wonder why we call this
home! If next year is 1/2 as Fab as 2006 was, we are in for another
Great Year!
We are hopping that everybody is planning for a safe New Year's
Eve. We will be at the
Suncoast Resort
www.SuncoastResort.com for
the incredible Fireworks Display. Kids in Tampa we recommend you visit
Wrangler's http://www.wranglersbar.com/ for
the car give away.
Where ever you decide to celebrate at remember, friends don't let
friends drive drunk, click it or ticket, beer before liquor never
sicker, liquor before beer never fear, always split aces and
eights, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, when
the going gets tough the tough get going, no glove no love.
Finally in the words of Charlie at City Side... REMEMBER THIS
MOTTO TO LIVE BY:
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the
intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body,
but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the
other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO
HOO what a ride!"

Christmas Week in St. Petersburg
Since Halloween it has been one huge Holiday party in St. Petersburg &
Bay Area! Only one more week to go in 2006 and then we get to do it
all over again!!!! For us Monday was the hugh annual Christmas party
at Donald & Bryan's. Tuesday we gassed up our crazy
limo convertible, H.R.H. Princess Priscilla. It was
off for a night of Christmas Caroling & bead tossing! Yes, that was us
you saw! We stopped at The King & I Thai Restaurant,
for some Holiday Cheer. There we kidnaped the two hot servers for a
ride around the block. Next stop was at Grand Central
Station for Turn-a-bout. While there
we caught Ross of West Florida Growlers filling their
sleigh with toys for the kids. No rest for Priscilla
on Wednesday. We picked up Mom & it was off thru Hyde Park Village in
Tampa. A special hello to the kids at Starbucks!
Thursday there were 100's of people at the Annual Holiday
Party during the TEA Party Thursdays with Judy B. Goode & Paul Thomas
Show. Friday & Saturday the cast of Sin in
the City at the Lunar Lounge
truly out did themselves! The costumes, music & talent were all over
the top! The live entertainment in the Wedgewood & Eagle,
with Mele & guests was just as great!
Sunday, Christmas Eve was the Annual Christmas T-Dance at
the Suncoast Resort. This year the weather was perfect,
the drinks were Fab, the Staff full of Holiday Spirit, The Resort
shined with over 1 million lights & the crowd of 1,000's were Festive
PARTY PEOPLE!!! What a winning Holiday Combination.

Why I Love Wrestling
17 year old State Wrestling Champion
Jerome Hunt
faces 21 counts of rape.
Hunt told investigators the
accusations probably come from a wrestling move called a "butt drag"
or "skinning," which involves the wrestler placing pressure on the
area of the rectum. To read the whole story & see the video visit

From Mark Ferguson, Brandon PRIDE
THE BRANDON PRIDE TIMES 2007
ISSUE ;)
Hi Folks,
Can you believe how quickly this year went??
So much has happened both good and bad, but we ALL made it
through....TOGETHER! We here at Brandon Pride Times have decided
that we are not going to bombard you with so much flashback from
memory road. But we would like to challenge everyone with this two
part question...What did you do to celebrate Pride, and stand up for
Equality in 2006, and what will you do in 2007??? Yes, there were
many opportunities in 2006. But we here at Brandon Pride want to
challenge everyone to stand up for your rights in 2007.
having said that......
What is happening in 2007???
Glad you asked.
Those of us who put together the short 15
minute film
"UNbanned!" in 2006 will be working on a longer expanded hour
long version of it in 2007. Like I said earlier we have alot
of opportunities to create positive change, and those of us who put
the 15 minute film together are going to continue to pursue that in
2007. If you have not seen the the short 15 minute film UNbanned,
feel free to view it at
www.unbanned.org
Sound Off! is on for a second season!
This
is really fantastic news for those involved with the public access
TV show "Sound Off." Eventhough Jean Batronie was not allowed back
at the station for a political TV debate when she was running for
Hillsborough County Commission District 4 this did not stop her and
her partner Arlene from producing "Sound OFF." With Jean calling
into the station from her home, and with co-host Mark Ferguson,
"Sound Off" tackles some issues that are important to our
community. So we are looking forward to another exciting season of
Sound OFF! If you ever want to email questions, or concerns to
Jean feel free to contact her at
jeanbatronie@yahoo.com
Finally what is Brandon Pride doing in 2007???
We been kinda sorta quiet lately. We are
being careful to not let the cat out of the bag too soon. But we
promise that you will be informed way ahead of time as we get close
to some Equality/Pride events planned for 2007. But we are also
looking very carefully on how responsive the new Hillsborough County
Commission will be towards our community/family especially on 1/4/07
where 19 Words Could End Suit Over County Gay Pride Policy.
http://www.tbo.com/news/metro/MGBUOEZ00WE.html
Lets also keep an eye on how the City of
Tampa elections will shape up. Once again, there will be
opportunities to create positive change in 2007, and if anyone is
interested in being a part of that once again email me directly at
markf33603@yahoo.com, or
Zeke at
pridetb@yahoo.com
