Who Pissed Who
Off???
What is going on with the city
of St. Pete? The mayor closed
down a homeless tent city camp
located on private land behind a
fence. Now the city is allowing
a new homeless tent city on the
public boulevard at 18th &
Central Ave!!!! We understand
the problems of the homeless
but.... Why right in front of
the entrance to the Gay friendly
"Grand Central
Business District"?
Do we sound bitter? You
bet! When we had our store at
16th and Central the city cited
us for having too many sidewalk
sales! Now the homeless are
being allowed to live on the
same blvd. It is also
interesting to note. There was a
unjustified huge commotion made
about welcoming GLBT tourist to
our area. Now there are homeless
living on Central Ave., the
cities' main street, " one of
"Americas Great
Historic Districts"
welcoming tourists. Maybe they
should start a new campaign
"Welcome to St.
Petersburg, the city of the
homeless?"

NO... Thank You for Your
Community Support!
Dear Mark & Carrie,
I just wanted to let you know
how much we appreciated you
publicizing the
Wine, Art and Heart
Fundraiser. It
was a very big success. The
place was The
Salvador Dali Museum
was packed and our
sponsors were very pleased.
It is very
interesting that the most hits
to our website came from your
website. We expected
that
www.localwineevents.com
or the TV stations or the WUSF
calendar listing would produce
the most hits, but we guessed
wrong. Your help is very much
appreciated.
Regards,
Steve Stearns

New GLBT
Web Site Opening
We are in the process of
building a unique website which
caters to the Gay community and
the Gay Friendly community.
There have been recent articles
in the press about Gays viewing
Tampa Bay as "Gay Unfriendly".
See links below to the
St. Petersburg Times
articles I am referring to.
We need to change the
perception that we are a Gay
Unfriendly community! This
perception not only affects our
image, but it also hurts our
businesses! I believe that if we
publish our establishments,
organizations and events on the
World Wide Web with positive
information on Tampa Bay and the
Gay community, we could attract
more "family" to this area!
When doing a google search,
with the key words "gay
friendly" and Tampa, negative
articles (see links below for
St. Pete Times Articles) come up
to the top of the search engine!
This is NOT good for
other gay folks checking out the
Tampa Bay area! The website I am
promoting will be designed so
that when the internet is
searched with specific keywords
pertaining to "Gay Friendly" and
" Tampa Bay ",
www.gayfriendlytampabay.com
will rise to the top of the
search engines with POSITIVE
information on our community.
There simply is not enough gay
friendly websites on the
internet for the Tampa Bay area.
We need your help, so we are
making this special offer:
We are offering
ONE FREE MONTH
of advertising your
establishments, organizations,
events, etc. on our website.
After one month of satisfaction
with the website, contact me to
enroll for the yearly fee or
