St. Pete Pride 2007
A Paramount Year for St. Pete Pride
"Pride In Paradise"
St. Petersburg, FL – Saturday June 30, 2007; Weather
Forecast – Sunny
& Hot with a slight chance of rain, but then again
it's just another
Saturday in June, right? Absolutely not! Grab
everything rainbow and
don't forget the sunscreen. Saturday June 30, 2007 is
the 5th Annual
St. Pete Pride - Pride in Paradise.
A small group of GLBT business leaders in January of
2003, began
discussing the idea of organizing a Pride event in St.
Petersburg, FL.
Just as the idea grew and grew, so did the support
from the City,
Community, and Sponsors. After just a couple short
months of planning
and no experience in organizing such events by the
board, the
inaugural St. Pete Pride Celebration drew an estimable
crowd of
13,000. The incredible and overwhelming support of the
community has
continued to grow each year in multitude. By 2007,
just five short
years since this grass roots movement began St. Pete
Pride organizers
and board members are planning to host the largest
event yet, an
astounding 75,000 people on the streets of St.
Petersburg in the Grand
Central District celebrating Pride and the Diversity
of the people in
Tampa Bay.
Coordinator of St. Pete Pride, Brian Longstreth says,
the events for
2007 are off to a great start and we expect 2007 to be
a paramount
year for St. Pete Pride." Longstreth adds, "with large
contributions
of companies like Washington Mutual, St. Pete Times,
conceptBAIT,
Georgie's Alibi, Watermark, Sirius Satellite Radio,
and all other
sponsors St. Pete Pride 2007 will be an unparalleled
event to be
rivaled by many."

the big day include:

New AIDS Charity, Out of
the Closet Thrift Stores, Coming to Florida
Hi Mark And Carrie
I am not
sure if you remember me my name is Matt and I
worked at the Tampabay Leather Company last
summer. Anyway I now work for AIDS Healthcare
Foundation and we are in the process of opening
Out of the Closet Thrift Stores here in Florida.
We currently operate 15 stores in LA and 5 more in
San Francisco. The first FL location is in
Wilton Manors and will be opening on Labor Day
after that I plan on opening in Miami, St. Pete
and Jacksonville. We will be offering free HIV
testing at all of our Florida locations and the
proceeds benefit our parent organization AIDS
Healthcare Foundation which "provides cutting edge
medicine and advocacy regardless of ability to
pay. "
As a St.
Pete resident, frequent shopper and Tea Dance
junkie I'm very sad about the fact that the
Suncoast is closing along with all of the great
tenants such as yourselves. I have tried
contacting you via phone with no luck. So I am
writing you to ask if you could please help us
out. We need not only fixtures but even any stock
you might have left after closing. Of course, we
are a 501 (c) (3) organization and would be able
to provide you with documentation of your donation
for tax purposes. Any help is greatly
appreciated! Please feel free to check out our
websites at
www.AIDShealth.org and
www.Outofthecloset.org . I look forward to
hearing from you, my cell # is listed below and
that along with email are the best ways to reach
me. Thanks
Matt

Needs Your Help
I would first like to thank those
of you who have been contant in your effort to make
the public aware of Gypsy Productions Inc. over the
past 31/2 seasons. I am not sure if you can or will
print this release but we are in need of assistance
and better to try then to never give the effort.
Thank You!

Gypsy Productions
Inc.
“The Theatrical
Alternative”
Artistic Director
Trevor Keller
We
appreciate this opportunity to brief you on Gypsy
Productions, Inc. We would like to apprise you of
our current situation and our need to develop a
financial partnership with members of our valued
community.
On
September 26th, 2003 Gypsy Productions,
Inc. was formed by theatre professionals who wanted
to see live alternative theatre remain in St.
Petersburg. This project was sparked by the death of
Brett Lassiter, founder of Central Stage Theatre,
2002. On November 21st, 2003 Gypsy
Productions Inc opened its inaugural show, SLAP &
TICKLE by David Parr. In 2004, Gypsy Productions
Inc. became a 501(c) 3 Non-Profit Organization.
As of May 2007, Gypsy Productions has performed 29
shows, with a combined attendance of 15,749.
Gypsy Productions also provided entertainment by
world renowned artist Jade Estaban Estrada as a kick
off for both the 2004 and 2005 St. Pete Pride
events. As well in cooperation with Gary Bruel,
Artistic Director (Sarasota AIDS Theater Project), &
American Stage, Gypsy Productions Inc. has brought
awareness to the AIDS epidemic through “A Night of
Alternative Theater” 2005, 2006 & 2007.
“Gypsy Productions has now evolved to the point
where it's making a real contribution to the Bay
area arts scene.” Mark Leib, Creative Loafing,
05/16/07
As
you are fully aware, running a theater takes a
financial commitment. So far, all of the costs
associated with running the theater have been
covered solely by ticket sales and some individual
donations.
On
May 17th Gypsy Productions Inc. received
notice that the Suncoast Resort had been sold to
Home Depot and effective June 17th, 2007,
it would be closing. Although our goal was to have
our own location offsite, this news was quite
unexpected and at a very inopportune time. We
suddenly found ourselves without a theatre in the
middle of our 4th season. While we have been able
operate successfully in the past on tickets sales
and individual donations, we realize that this will
no longer meet the expenses (building lease or
purchase, utilities, insurance etc…) Gypsy
Productions Inc. will incur as we move forward.
Gypsy Productions Inc. is asking for your help.
We are seeking your sponsorship and/or donations to
make our theater a continued success. We are in need
of a building to house Gypsy Productions Inc. & the
New Suncoast Theatre. With your generous support, we
expect to bridge the financial gap to continue to
keep alternative theatre alive in St. Petersburg.
For those of you who have assisted us with your
generosity in the past, thank you! Now more
than ever, we need your financial continuance for
our survivability. Without your help, the artistic
creativity that we have shared would never have been
possible.
Thank you for considering our request for assistance
in earnest. We look forward to hearing from you
soon, and would like to thank you in advance for
your anticipated support. Your continued
generosity will ensure that Gypsy Productions Inc.
will find a new home and continue with their 2007
Season and insure the stability of alternative
theater for years to come. Gypsy Productions Inc.
is a qualified tax-exempt entity recognized under
IRS Code 501(c) 3.
Please feel free to contact us through our website

temporary business number at 727-644-7077.
