Words can not describe all the Positive Energy, Enthusiasm & Excitement coming out of the GaYBOR District! Everyday 100's of people in our GLBT community are discovering this very special place right here in Tampa! Here are just some of the things happening!

The GaYBOR District Coalition

At the monthly meeting of the GDC over 30 people & groups attended. Club owners, merchants, individuals & groups like: Hillsborough County GLBTA Democratic Caucus , A.S.A.P., Ybor City Chamber of Commerce, Historical Ybor Neighborhood Civic Association, Ybor City Development Corp, Gazette Magazine, Watermark Magazine, Buzz Magazine, Rainbow in Sunshine Project, Triangle Alternative Network & the Hampton Inn & Suites. Everybody agreed, that working together to promote the New GaYBOR District is one of the coalitions goal. Some of the up coming events include; "Talent Quest" at the Ritz Theatre, Aug 18th & 19th, "Meet & Greet with Kevin Beckner" candidate for Hillsborough County Commissioner on Aug 26st at Rock-n-Sports, "Flamingo Auto Group Car Show" Sunday, Sept 9th on 15th St. & new upcoming Labor Day Weekend Events.

Congratulations "Flirt Night Club & Show Bar", 5 Year Anniversary in Ybor

Every time we go to Flirt Night Club we know that we are in for a surprise & will be impressed! The "Addicted to Glamour Anniversary Party " was way cool! The upstairs club was decorated with huge bouquets of flowers designed by artist/ decorator Toby from Ybor Island Florist, Glittery Diamonds spread across the bar, eye lash table cloths, shining 5 year anniversary streamers & the staff in tux outfits! Up on stage performing were Erica Andrews, Jazmine International, Amy Demilo, Desiree Demornay, JT, Jodi, Se7en, Apollo with DJ Pat Pat spinning, our favorite bartenders upstairs were Mike, Tasha & Tara Truly a night of Glamour. The most impressive point of the night for us was when the Owners of G.Bar, Lounge 7@14 & other GaYBOR District members all came to congratulate Darlene & her staff! When was the last time that happened?

Filming new Movie in Ybor

Slick Gangster's, Guns Exploding, Classic Cars & Havanna Cigars! The filming of "The Ghost of Ybor," a docu-drama based on parts of the book, "The Cigar City Mafia" by Scott M. Deitche, is being filmed in Ybor City with a lot of local stars, extras, and fanfare. This movie is the story of Ybor City's first major Gangster Mob Boss, Charlie Wall. Our, Miss Amber tried to walk her way into becoming an extra. You will have to see the movie to find out what happened!!!! MMMMM Free goodies.

"Fetish Con" visits GaYBOR

It's 3 pm and in the lobby of the Tampa Hyatt Regency Hotel walks a lady in full Western Leather leading her husband on a leash wearing a pink mini shirt & in 9" heels. Unusual yes....but not when "The 7th Annual Fetish Con" is in town! On the night we visited the hotel lobby we ran into the famous "O-Girl" and her entourage who have a new film coming out at theatres soon. Over to the side there was an unusual cage design in the shape of a coffin. (designed by www.dungeondesignsinc.com) We talked Peter (bartender at G. Bar) to jump inside. The lid was closed and just then a scantily clothed woman ran over and jumped on top of the cage putting her 'you know what's' into poor Peters face. Chewing bubble gum, Peter just blew a bubble and said "Can I get out now???" The highlight of this years convention was the opening of the New Fetish Club inside the "Castle", located on 9th Ave in Ybor City.

John & Michael just keep on adding & upgrading Lounge 714. The coffee & espresso bar is a real big hit in Ybor. New this week is the Beer & Shot Bar! With the accordion wall this club is perfect for your next party celebration or meeting and the staff is great too!!! Oh Happy Birthday Lounge 714 bartender Mark!!!

G. BAR Tuesday Night & "The Big Four plus One" in the house!

We heard all the wild stories about "TUESDAYS at G. BAR with Chris Weaver!" After joining the gang for "Wing-it Night" at Rock-n-Sports (Super yummy all you can eat wings nite) we decided to walk over & check it out for ourselves. Chris had the club packed with party people! DJ Greg Anderson was playing all the new music and the poor bouncers had a full time job trying to keep clothes on the guys. Who could believe there is a club this hot in Tampa on a Tuesday nights! Last Saturday night "The Big Four Club Kids" from across Florida were all at G. BAR at the same time! Kitty Meow, Power Infiniti, Wanda and Macavity. Not to be out done... Tea Cup arrived on Stilts dressed as his new persona Miss Zsa Zsa GaYBOR! Who do you think will be there this coming week? Get ready for the Pink Flamingo Invasion coming Aug 25th!
