Three Ring Circus
You just never know what's going to happen in GaYBOR! Thursday there was a "Three Ring Circus" at Rock-n-Sports! In the patio lounge was the very talented comedic Gaybaret singer, "Judy B. Goode Show with Paul Thomas" playing to a packed house of GLBT's. In the main bar was the new seasonal football crowd all watching the big game on TV's with one eye & watching Judy's show with the other eye! In the basketball banquet room was a fundraiser for a fallen Tampa fireman. The fundraiser had different units of fire trucks, games, food, drinks & even a bagpipe group. Bartenders Brian and Brandon held down the show. Toss in the wild girls from Flirt and the party was on! By the end of the evening the Gays were in the banquet room with the fire fighters while a big group of the firemen were at Judy's show singing "Itchee Twitchee " with her. While the football guys couldn't wait to go home and tell their wives about all the fun they had! What do you suppose will happen this Thursday???
Labor Day Weekend
When we found out that Bryan & Donald from "The King & I Restaurant" or as we call it, "The Queen Am I Restaurant" were staying at the Hampton Inn for the whole weekend we knew it was going to be wild! GaYBOR was packed with GLBT travelers from across the country! At Flirt Nightclub & Show Bar, the show director Amy Demillo, had a special Labor Day Show that left everybody wowed & speechless! It was standing room only at Lounge 714 for their "Labor of Love Party" with VJ Lynn. On the back patio there was an impromptu Southern Belle beauty pageant. Lucky for us we had a camera! G. BAR was packed with long lines outside as always. Inside the club were dozens of celebrities like, the guest New York DJ Mike Cruz, Mathew with his entourage, Peter & Joe, Max (aka the Senator), Makativity, Tony & Jose, the Governors, Club Kids and who do you think tried to sneak into G. Bar un noticed but.... Brian , one of the owners of Buzz Magazine in Ft. Lauderdale! Now we know why the new Buzz Magazine has so much class. Brian is not only a true Hottie but a 1st Class Act too.
T-Dance
When we heard the G. Bar was going to have a special T-dance we knew it would be great but this T-dance blew everybody away! "The Muscle Beach Party" was held at Churchill's Nightclub on 7th in Ybor. All your favorite bartenders from G. Bar were working this over the top party! As you entered the club the 1st floor was covered in beach balls with DJ Greg Anderson. Up one floor to the second level for more great music and a balcony over looking 7th Ave. Up one more floor to the roof top for our favorite part. There is a huge roof top dance floor! DJ CK was spinning to a crowd of shirtless guys dancing under the stars and what a beautiful night outdoors! Toss in flag dancers, Club Kids & the Human Volcano! The crowd of over 2,000 couldn't stop talking about how wonderful this party was. Let's hope that the G. Bar gang does this again very soon! The Party was Definitly on in GaYBOR!
A.S.A.P. Travels Over the Bridge to GaYBOR
The A.S.A.P. Mobile Unit Crew were handing out literature and doing HIV testing on 7th Ave in the GaYbor District. The newly formed GaYbor District Coalition helped make this happen. Dir. David Karst was overwhelmed by the response with the number of inquiries and info distributed. The unit was across from
Lounge 714 and G. Bar and will be there at least 2 times a month on Saturday nights, 8-2 AM.
PEOPLE Are Talking
Sasha and Scott, owners of Urban Body on South Howard Ave. just returned Friday from the big clothing show, Magic in Las Vegas. " Oh so many Great finds,'" Scott told us. So I guess that is a heads up for hot new clothing fashions arriving soon! We just heard that St. Pete's Central Avenue owners, Robin & Dave of Spirit Graphics are relocating. Not sure where but they are having a Good-Bye Party at Georgie's Alibi, Wed,. Sept 5. Both are very active in the Grand Central District and St. Pete Pride. We have heard yet another gay bar will be opening soon in St. Pete. Rex M. is returning from an extended "Southern Decadence" New Orleans Adventure. Rex do tell! Tampa Gay & Lesbian Film Festival ticket holders can get their tickets for the upcoming October GLBT Film Festival at area outlets this next week. The 2 week festival will be held at Historic Tampa Theatre. And in the not so distant future is Tampa Bay Bears Charity Auction. To donate or bid, they now have a website . www.tbbauction.com

Record 94% of FORTUNE 500 companies protect gay & lesbian employees |
Record 94% of FORTUNE 500 Companies
Provide Sexual Orientation Discrimination Protection
13 of the 30 Noncompliant Companies Headquartered in Texas
Equality Forum, a national and international gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) civil rights organization, announced that 470 (94%) of the 2007 FORTUNE 500 Companies voluntarily include sexual orientation in their employment nondiscrimination policies. Equality Forum collaborates in this project with Professor Louis Thomas, Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and Ian Ayres, William K. Townsend Professor, Yale Law School.

According to Gallup’s May 10-13, 2007, Values and Beliefs Poll, 89% of U.S. citizens believe that gays and lesbians should have workplace discrimination protection. There is no federal workplace protection based on sexual orientation and only 20 states include sexual orientation nondiscrimination in their workplace statutes.
“When 94% of the FORTUNE 500 Companies and 89% of the public support workplace equality, Congress is derelict by its failure to include GLBT citizens in federal workplace discrimination protection,” stated Malcolm Lazin, Executive Director, Equality Forum. “There is no cost to provide sexual orientation protection. Corporations and shareholders benefit from a workplace where merit, not intolerance, prevails.”
Of the 30 FORTUNE 500 Companies that are noncompliant, 13 (43.3%) are headquartered in Texas. “When it comes to equality, Texas is a lone and tarnished star,” Lazin stated.
In fall 2003, when Equality Forum began contacting FORTUNE 500 Companies, 323 (64.6%) companies provided sexual orientation protection. Equality Forum made the business case to the 177 (35.4%) CEOs, HR Directors and all members of the Boards of Directors of companies not offering that protection.

News From MySpace
What's up with My Space? Last week us and several of our friends all had the same problem. Our friends started to get the red X and were deleted. Then our whole profile page was deleted with over 2,300 friends. So far we have heard nothing from MySpace but our friends have been giving us tons of possible reasons. Mark from Brandon PRIDE told us that Hillsborough County Community College has filters on the internet & that anybody who contact a banded site (like ours which is banned for being gay) is not only blocked but they send a message to MySpace that our account is corrupt? Who knows????
The good news is that we are back with a new MySpace. Here is where we need your help. Please post and tell all your friends that we are back & re join our friends again. Here is our new myspace number 38537537

The Most Beautiful Rainbow
As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that
wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You
will have your heart broken probably more than once and
it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so
remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight
with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things
an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast,
and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too
many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never
been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset
is a minute of happiness you'll never get back. Don't be
afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never
begin.
