We will keep you up to date on this.   In Loving Memory Kathy Pagliuca passed away on 2-05-08 in her St. Petersburg home surround by loving friends & family. Best known as "The Dancing Queen", Kathy was very loved by the GLBT Community and her Thai Family. The photo below was taken in June, at the Suncoast Resort during "Last Dance" at MC Film. A memorial service will be announced in the upcoming weeks.   Theo Wujcik is Not Mr. Rogers but he is BIG in the Art Community     On 9th Ave in Ybor City is a large warehouse home to internationally known paintings and sculptures.  Theo Wujcik, a modern Salvadore Dali -Van Gogh styled type artist, showed me his working art studio. WOW. His works are in the Brooklyn Museum, Whitney Museum, Carnegie Institute, Tampa Museum of Art, St. Pete Fine Arts Museum,  and the United Nations Building to begin with. Hundreds of international museums, galleries and private estates feature Wujcik's works. It is all interpretation & imagination that make-up Theo's very colorful abstract works! Including his artistic, "Human Nest."     Theo started with drawings at a very early age living in Detroit. His imaginative ambitions grew and then he attended the Detroit Art School. His post grad work landed him at the University of New Mexico working side by side with famous lithographer, Garo Antresian. Then was offered a Ford Foundation Grant to attend the acclaimed Tamarind Lithography Workshop in LA. Theo was hired as a Master Printer Professor at USF in 1970. Then later became a Drawing and Painting professor. He moved his residence to Ybor City in 1987, " a very rough but artsy tranquil area of Tampa for artists, but anything went in those days." This now 2003 retired University of South Florida Prof, paints pictures bigger than life and that is one of his notes to fame. His 25 page comprehensive life experience resume tells more. "I came home drunk one night, put masking tape on my face and hand sketched myself on canvas all night!" he explained to me, about the new direction of experimental art changes he ventured into in the early 80's. "Music had a lot to do with imagery art attitude changes also," he added. "I was a Zenith Nader punk music follower."     Ybor is rekindling its past artsy spirit and I was introduced to the international artist by Manny Alvarez as we saw some of his huge paintings being displayed on the second level of Urban Outfitters in Centro Ybor. Theo took me on a imaginary journey of nuances in his 2 level studio filled with 1000's of beautifully avant garde completed art paintings."I'm doing a lot of 'global warming' pieces now. One of my global warming paintings is hanging in the International Peace Museum in Oslo, Norway."     Credited with 9 published works including his book, "30 Years Retrospective: Gulf Coast Museum of Art" , Theo takes pride in being at every one of Tampa's yearly gay events, "Art For Life',  Tampa AIDS Networks Charity Benefit started by Victor Figueredo in the 1990's.     Upcoming art exhibition showings are at the Flight Station next to the Union Train Station in downtown Tampa. The car was a wedding gift to her third husband, Herbert Ross, American film director and choreographer. The selling dealer was Hornburg Jaguar, Santa Monica, California. Shortly after the purchase the owners and the car moved to their New York City area home(s).             The XJ-S remained in the extended Kennedy family until Mr Ross’ death in 1999. Hamilton South IV, a friend and coworker of Mr. Ross, was bequeathed the Jaguar, only driving 5,000 additional miles and kept it until April, 2005. Ross Klein, a friend of Hamilton, purchased the car, which he "gave" to his parents, Maureen and Saul Klein of Titusville, Florida, in August 2005.             The XJ-S was acquired in April, 2005, and received a thorough cleaning, new tires, the interior was refreshed, as were many of the mechanicals, a new canvas tan top and an A/C conversion. Floridians will get their chance to vote on an amendment to ban gay marriage in November. The state announced Friday that a signature petition drive launched three years ago by conservative groups made Feb 1, 2008 deadline to get the issue on the ballot. Florida 4 Marriage, the group pushing for the ban, collected more than 649,000 signatures, which was over the 611,000 required. Florida 4 Marriage's amendment would define marriage as the legal union of only one man and one woman as husband and wife, and that no other legal union that is treated as marriage or the substantial equivalent shall be valid or recognized.   Florida high school sued for barring Pride Stix   The American Civil Liberties Union is suing a high school in Florida, claiming it fosters an atmosphere of fear and censorship against students with gay rights paraphernalia. Administrators at Ponce de Leon High School stated that students' wearing rainbow stickers could mean that they are members of an illegal organization. "All any of us wants to do is be able to talk about gay rights issues without having to be scared," Heather Gillman, a 16-year-old student, said in an ACLU press release. "Nobody should have to worry about being kicked out of school just for having a rainbow sticker on your notebook." The ACLU sent a letter to the school on behalf of Heather, asking wither a variety of symbols and slogans, such as the rainbow flag or "I support my gay friends," would be allowed. The district replied that it would not allow any expressions for gay rights because the speech would be disruptive and that students could be symbols of gangs or a "secret/illegal organization." An unidentified student was suspended for five days for expressing her support for gay rights, the ACLU said. Students said a lesbian peer was harassed and tried to report the situation to administrators. She was instead greeted with censorship of supporting students writing "gay pride" on their arms and notebooks. Producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron have pushed a film adaptation of the 1982 Randy Shilts book "The Mayor of Castro Street" for more than 15 years, according to the Hollywood Reporter. While Penn has not played gay on screen, he portrayed an ambiguous Olivia Newton-John impersonator in the 2001 "Beaver Trilogy." Damon would play White, who fatally shot Milk and San Francisco Mayor George Moscone. White committed suicide in 1985 after serving five years in prison.
