With over 23,000 people at the "NCAA Women's Final Four", at the St. Pete Times Forum in Channelside, the St. Pete Times had the head line of "The Lesbian Super Bowl in Tampa." This is one of the biggest sporting events and Tampa Bay should be proud to have this NCAA National Women's Basketball " Final Four"  Tournament Championship. The streetcars were shined up, the restaurants and bars in Ybor City were ready, hotels staff were polished and Tampa delivered!  Twirl Girl Productions did a fab job of creating new venue parties and events that catered to the massive crowds. The teams and fans came to party in Tampa Bay and indeed that is what they did do. This is the 2nd largest Lesbian event in the United States. Congrats and Good Luck Mark F., editor and publisher.   CONGRATULATIONS Sally Phillips   In case you missed it, Sally Phillips was selected along with 26 other leaders and elected officials of the Democratic Party to be a delegate at the National Convention in Denver by the Florida Democratic Party State Executive Committee on Saturday, April 6. I will be joining Sally along with 3 other GLBT pledged delegates for Obama and Clinton chosen on March 1 from US House Districts 10 and 11.   The state party goal for GLBT delegates is 21.  Although the Tampa Bay Area has 5 of those there are still spots that need to be filled.  April 8th is the first day you can file as an At Large Delegate for the Convention. Forms can be downloaded at www.fladems.com. A breakdown in the numbers needed to balance out the delegation by all variables should be forthcoming but I would encourage any of you or your GLBT friends to apply for an At Large spot.
