Scott Silverman, A Gay Auto Comedian
The Tampa Winter Pride wins a
prize for bringing in zany comedian and geeky car
enthusiast, Scott Silverman, at the
Tampa Improv. A nice crowd heckled the
beginning act but it warmed up the gay revelers to a great
night of stand-up gay comedy. Scot isn't a stranger as he
appeared last summer to perform for St. Pete Pride's
"Night of Comedy." Scott is from Los Angeles but loves
the Tampa Bay area. "Tampa Bay gay community has a very
warm feeling." he said in a Dishing with Mark & Carrie
interview. "And the people are nice too !" Crazy as he
is and living on the edge by driving on the 405 Freeway in
LA, Scott has been on numerous comedy TV shows
including,"Out There 2", A&E's "An Evening at the Improv",
"Buster Poindexter's Happy Hour", "Comedy on The Road", and
"Girl's night Out." The late nite show had many celebrities
a laughing. Kris *& Jim , former owners of
Grand Central Station,
Tony LaColla & Jose, Khan & Don
from the King & I Thai Restaurant,
and numerous of others in the Improv's gallery. Introduced

the fun filled night was a success for Winter Pride in

Author Mykle Kane, Bobby Blake's X-Lover Writes All
Atlanta Author, Athlete, Personal Trainer, Coach and
Special Guest to GaYBOR District Coalition's
monthly meeting handed out and signed his new controversial
book, "Impossible Dreams." Author
Mykle Kane shyly spoke to us. "I was
just in GaYBOR for the Gasparilla Gay Softball Tournament in
February and I love Tampa! We ( Atlanta's team) did
win the tourney and that was a super feeling.The next thing
that I do is to put the cover of the book on
billboards across Atlanta. Do you think it is to risque?"
Mykle is ex lover of super porn star and model
Bobby Blake. 49 chapters after you begin you find
out the real talents of Mykle. "Rape, deception and
murder heighten this book with nail biting levels of reality
after accepting the passing of a loved one!" Mykle's
new book comes out this month.

In a presentation to the GaYBOR District
Coalition, we were introduced to
Scott Hall. A leader who stood up and said that
"We can't stand for this brutality any more." Having
taken on an interest in all the "Gay Bashings" around the
country. Including the brutal murder of Polk County's most
heinous gay crime of Ryan Skipper, activist
Scott Hall said "I have to do something!" Scott called
friends in Washington, D.C. and in New York and asked about
what memorials they have for fallen, bashed or murdered
gays. Since there wasn't any organization, he formed
"Gay American Heroes Foundation" to put
forth those that have been murdered just because of their
sexual orientation.The memorial will be a traveling display
going to a community that have had deadly hate crimes.
Constructed of 12 panels, each 10 ft wide and 7 foot tall
made of aluminum. Set up in a zig zag pattern so you
actually see 4 complete different monuments depending on

Sheriff Grady Judd
Friday's Orlando Sentinel did a
love-fest on homophobic Sheriff Grady Judd.
It was front page center with a large picture included.
A Letter to the Editor
Sheriff's Double Standard
I read the article about the group of teenage girls that
attacked another girl in Polk County, leaving the victim
with a concussion and other injuries. Polk County Sheriff
Grady Judd was quoted in his outrage, referring to the
perpetrators' "animalistic behavior" and "pack mentality"
after they "lured her there to beat her."
Although I do share the sheriff's outrage at this
disgusting incident, I find it quite ironic that this is the
same sheriff that exhibited no outrage whatsoever at the
"animalistic behavior" of the two homophobes who "lured" a
young gay man (Ryan Skipper) to his death in a savage
attack. They slit his throat and stabbed him 20 times, and
dumped his blood-soaked car next to a sign for "Lake Pansy."
Not only did Sheriff Judd not express comparable outrage
at this horrific hate crime, he released false and
defamatory statements about the victim, blamed the victim
for his own death and has since refused to speak to the
victim's family (or the media). What's wrong with this
picture?

Convention in GaYBOR
The NGPA held its convention in Tampa and
stayed in the Historic Ybor City
GaYBOR District. The annual
fly-in was held in conjunction with the "Sun &
Fun Fly-In " in Lakeland. Over 800 members
are in the national organization. Pilots as far away as
Seattle were in attendance. A greet and appetizer social
was kicked off at Streetcar Charlie's Bar &
Grille. Mostly made up of gay men there are
2 dozen Lesbian pilots in the club. See you all next

I will be participating in the Honolulu AIDS Walk on Sunday,
April 20, to support the work of Life Foundation, Hawaii's
oldest and largest response to HIV.
This year, I am walking in memory of Brian Crawford, a
former resident of both Tampa and Honolulu.
Last year, right before the Walk, Tampa (and Hawaii)
lost a treasure when Brian Crawford died. I always was in awe
of how Brian - in spite of everything his health through at
him and Horst - was always a relentless force volunteering for
Art For Life and The Wet Party. Those events wouldn't have
been the same without him.
Brian - a former waiter at Hard Rock Cafe here in
Honolulu - gave me invaluable advice before moving here and
relayed his fond memories of Life Foundation's early days.
Brian, we will carry your image at this year's Walk and your
memory in our hearts forever.

programs and services to HIV-positive men, women and children
