Ghost Watchers tackle Haunted Ybor Hospital
A group of 30 paranormal hunters ventured into the Trelles Clinic & Hospital in Ybor City last Sunday night amidst the rain and fog. The hospital is thought to have some ghostly invisible residents. The property is in the midst of changing hands and soon to be opened in 2009 as a new GLBT Boutique resort. But there are invisible visitors that have shown themselves to the new owners. Windows close on demand and on there own. Doors closed have opened on their own. HMMMM So who you going to call!!! GHOST BUSTERS !!! But in our case, Tampa Ghost Watchers www.TampaGhostWatchers.com were called to check out the old hospital paranormal sightings. Special Lens cameras, digital sound recording equipment, and many other apparatuses were brought in to investigate. " This is the largest paranormal investigation group in Florida and maybe the country." leader Bill Sharp told us. "It will take a couple of weeks to go through the voice recordings and photos." Well, we were there and I recorded some very spooky things. Hair did stand up on the back of my head!!! We encountered an electrical force with suppositively a young child was pulling on one of the group team members. An electrical sensor was scanned on the person and sure enough sometime was there. The lights started flashing on the back of the lady. The lights would come and go as she asked the spirit to move around the room coming closer to her and then moving away. At another location near the old surgical room a ghostly spirit came and went. We talked to who we thought might be one of the Registered Nurses who worked the ward on the floor. Quite the experience. Yes, even Morning Radio Show celebrities Nancy Alexander & Froto wanted to catch the ghostly action. A lot of the pictures of the hospital and stories about the many secret love triangles were in area writer and historian , Dr. Ferdie Pacheco's book, "Ybor City Chronicles." We found out info on Tampa Ghost Watchers since the big craze of the weekly Travel Networks TV Show, "Ghost Hunters." "Membership is $25.00 and more groups are forming across the country." we were told by Bill.
We will keep you all informed to see if the spirits stayed or left town! More on the new resort is forthcoming.

Western Night at G
Well it was all cowboys and dancing. No not country dancing but hot off the press dance grooves by DJ Greg. The G.Bar was transformed Saturday to a country western town theme. Coal trains rails above, leaky water tanks overhead head, a full facade of Western town with sign age and wood windows. Wow ..Where is Wyatt Earp or Matt Dillon???? There was a lot of hay bales and rolling tumbleweed with a fence to tie up your horse if you had one! The very big change to G. Bar was the idea of set designer Mathieu Stovach who does the set designs for G. Bar, Honey Pot and is curator of Gallery Live. Not just cowboys were there either. Famed porn star Brent Everett www.brenteverett.com dressed the western look and did perform ???? Stephen & Steve keep it up! The last 2 years only got you 2 guys prepped for more fun and imaginative times.

The group www.GaySoFla.com are planning on attending the wedding of Fl Governor Charlie Chris and Carole Rome. The locale group Impact Florida will also be there. Governor Crist, an outspoken proponent of Amendment 2. He is exercising the same fundamental right millions of Floridians are now denied because of the passage of Amendment 2. Humm.... I wonder how many guys will be the Bestman??? What a SHAME for more than a few reasons!!!!

During this Holiday Season, GrownGurl Events will gladly be conducting a donation drive for the Women's Personal Care Pantry at Metropolitan Charities. This is one easy, yet necessary way for us to give back and help continue making positive change within our community.
The female clients of Metro Charities that are HIV+, along with their families, are provided access to a personal care products pantry provided by Metropolitan Charities. Items like cleaning supplies, feminine hygiene and personal care products are available each month through case management. Sadly, this pantry badly needs to be re-stocked. This is where we step in!
Over the next few weeks, GGE will be collecting and packaging the needed items in preparation for donation before Christmas. Client care packages can be made and brought to the December Delights Winter Bash. There will be client care packages pre-made and available for you to purchase for donation at the December Delights Winter Bash as well.
All basic personal-care items are available at your local dollar stores and average about $10 per client care package.

I was just wondering if you heard about my friend from Wisconsin that was stabbed to death in puerto vallarta a few months ago. he was a transvestite and did a lot for the community her name was Felicia Melton-Smith. She was stabbed to death on a routine trip to Mexico but by someone that she knew. I felt so bizarre about the situation because no one that is close to me knew how much she did for the community (she was kind of a bitch). GeoVax's Phase 2a HIV/AIDS Vaccine Human Trials to Begin in North and South America
"World Aids Day" Commemorated by GeoVax with Hope and Promise
ATLANTA - December 1, 2008 - GeoVax Labs, Inc. (OTC BB: GOVX), an Atlanta-based biotechnology company developing human vaccines for diseases caused by HIV-1 (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) and other infectious agents, announced today that the launch of its Phase 2a Human Vaccine Trials will take place in twelve sites across North and South America. These trials are conducted in collaboration with The National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN).
"It is of significant importance to report this major development on this very day in which the world commemorates WORLD AIDS DAY. Despite setbacks reported recently with other vaccine trials, our vaccine is progressing and paving the way for a solution that would potentially make this commemorative day more joyful," commented Dr. Robert McNally, GeoVax's President and CEO.
Dr. Harriet Robinson, Vice President of Research and Development of GeoVax Labs, Inc., stated, "We feel privileged to be in the position to launch our Phase 2a human trial. Going forward, each clinical site's review board will start the vaccination process, when deemed appropriate and ready. Accordingly, HVTN's pharmacy will release the vaccines to each designated institution as directed by each site's local review board."
Trial site arrangements and other details of the study were confirmed in a recent meeting held in Seattle , Washington , between the HVTN and GeoVax's scientific personnel. The Phase 2a human clinical trial will involve 150 vaccinees and 75 placebo (control) participants. The vaccine regimen employs a two-component "prime-boost strategy." Trial participants will first be administered a GeoVax HIV-1 DNA vaccine which "primes" the immune system followed by the second vaccine, GeoVax's HIV-1 MVA (Modified Vaccinia Virus) boost. Both vaccines express the three major proteins of the AIDS virus. These proteins mimic more than 50% of the components of the AIDS virus (HIV-1) but cannot cause AIDS. GeoVax AIDS vaccines are designed to prevent HIV-1 virus infection which causes Acquired Immunodeficiency Disease (AIDS).
The Seattle meeting also achieved further progress with GeoVax's therapeutic trial. Information on this and other developments will be reported in a timely fashion in the near future.
