Key West Up Date
Jay, one of the organizer  of Tampa Pride in Exile, just came back from Key West. Jay was the guest of Neil. One of the guys at "Pistol and Enema." They are the Kiss Cousins of "Dishing with Mark & Carrie" Check out their web site at www.pistolandenema.com . Jay reports that MTV's "Real World" will be filming there soon. See the photo below of Jay and one of the star. Good news for Key West... 2 and maybe more of the R.S.V.P. Cruises that were to go to New Orleans for Mardi Gras will be going to key West instead. One night Jay literally bumped into the Bitch Sisters. http://bitchsisters.com/ We understand that Jay received the VIP tour of the sisters award winning Lightbourn Inn  http://lightbourn.com/ . We bet he got the VIP Tour! It was great to hear all our Key West friends are doing great!

Jay makes us all so very proud!

HOT, HOT, HOT, FUN, FUN, FUN
What a fun filled weekend at The Suncoast Resort! Gypsy Productions play "Sordid Lives" has been playing to sell out audiences. The Thursday Happy "Tea Party" starring Judy B. Goode, Piano Man Paul and Tea Cup was full of party people! The Fabulous Miss Alicia Markstone shows were over the top again! As one regular said "I've never seen the Lunar so packed!" On Sunday was the Flamingo Auto Group Car Show. Hot cars & Hot guys just goes together so well! There were cars from all across the country there. Of course the naughty tag came from Florida! Then to top it all off at 6:00 was the Grand Finale of the "Best Body of the Bay Contest". Tony & Buddy were getting some hot photo's, for TLW.  Especially the one of Tea Cup on the balcony.  I have now cut back to one cup of tea a day! Spotted in the crowed were porn stars from Colt & Falcon on vacation. Hum do you thing they were looking for new stars? See you at the Resort!

Tacky Tourist
We have hear and seen a lot but this one was unbelievable and just plain crazy. A butch tourist took her boots off at the bar and poured her beer into them. That's the way they drink beer back home! The next day she called the front desk to complain that there wasn't a phone in her room? When the front desk asked her what she was talking on she got upset?
We don't know where she is from but, we will drink our beer out of a clean glass... please!

Happy Anniversary
Jack & Dan celebrated their 8 year anniversary. Even Miss Amber joined in the celebration. We are looking forward to the 25 Anniversary!
Miss Amber now 8 months old

Tampa Tribune
In case you missed it. This week the Tampa Tribune called on Barbara Bush to apologize. For once we agree with the Tribune. Below is what they wrote.
Barbara Bush Should Apologize

Published: Sep 13, 2005

Many times public figures make insensitive comments when they believe they are far from a microphone. A good example is Rep. Richard Baker, R-La., who The Wall Street Journal reports was overheard telling a group of lobbyists: ``We finally cleaned up public housing in New Orleans. We couldn't do it, but God did.''

Still, it is hard to shrug off the comments made by ``first mother'' Barbara Bush during a radio interview last week as she toured the Houston Astrodome, where thousands of evacuees from Hurricane Katrina were huddled.

``What I'm hearing, which is sort of scary, is they all want to stay in Texas,'' said the former first lady. ``Everyone is so overwhelmed by the hospitality, and so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this is working very well for them.''

What is ``sort of scary'' is such an elitist attitude toward so many people who have been victimized by a national disaster. To say the displaced thousands do not have it so bad because they had little to begin with is hurtful and inaccurate.

While it's true that many of the people in the Astrodome were underprivileged, most surely would have picked a different method of upward mobility than mass evacuation.

Among the thousands forced from their homes are individuals, each with a different story. They should be judged as such, not as a group.

The former first lady should do the right thing and apologize.

The Bush Photos
Here are just two of the photo's we have received this past week. A picture is worth a 1,000 words. Check out the e-mail from Sue below. It's unbelievable!
TV said it . We didn't!

What caption would you put here?
"Bushs on Vacation", "We got food".....

E-mail from Sue in Tampa.
Try this you are not going to believe what comes up!
1.) go to www.google.com
2.) type in "failure" without the quotes
3.) press the I'm feeling lucky button (instead of the google search one)

Watermark
Last week we wrote a "Letter to the Editor" to Watermark in response to the article about Peter Thornley, a Gay Pioneer in Orlando. We have received two letters back from them.  Both were professional and polite. How very lucky we are to have Watermark in our community. Read Watermark's next issue for our letter to the editor. www.watermarkonline.com

Clinton Arms

3060 Clinton Street  Gulfport, Florida

( 2 blocks west of Beach Blvd. off 31st. Avenue South )

When manager Susan Terpstra took over the apartment building on Clinton Street it was a rundown, architecturally uninteresting white box. First came the interior renovations Then her focus shifted to the exterior.  She boldly had the exterior painted graduated shades of green and added yellow trim.  The white box came alive.  But what would make this a Gulfport jewel?  International artist Keith Stillwagon with his use of lush tropical foliage and exotic birds provided the answer.

A City as Museum Project – Bringing the Best of the Arts to the public.

Monetary donations for the GULFPORT TO GULFPORT hurricane relief effort will be accepted at this event. Please help with any donation, large or small.  We can make a difference.

Continuing at the Catherine Hickman Theater Gallery through September.

Paintings by  ERIMIN TABAKOVIC

This young artist from Bosnia emigrated to Berlin where he was immersed in Graffiti art. His paintings reflect the conflicts of his youth as well as a new European optimism.

From Chuck in St. Pete

>   This explains why we forward jokes.
>
> A man and his dog were walking along a road. The man
> was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he
> was dead.
>
> He remembered dying, and that the dog walking beside
> him had been dead for years.
>
> He wondered where the road was leading them.
> After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall
> along one side of the road. It looked like fine marble. At the top of a
> long hill, it was broken by a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight.
>
> When he was standing before it he saw a magnificent
> gate in the arch that looked like mother-of-pearl, and the street that led
> to the gate looked  like pure gold. He and the dog walked toward the
> gate, and as he got closer, he saw a man at a desk to one side.
>
> When he was close enough, he called out, "Excuse me,
> where are we?"
>
> "This is Heaven, sir," the man answered.
>
> "Wow! Would you happen to have some water?" the man
> asked.
>
>  "Of course, sir. Come right in, and I'll have some ice water brought right
>  up."
>
>  The man gestured, and the gate began to open.
>
> "Can my friend", gesturing toward his dog, "come in,
> too?" the traveler asked.
>
> "I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets."
>
> The man thought a moment and then turned back toward
> the road and continued the way he had been going with his dog.
>
> After another long walk, and at the top of another
> long hill, he came to a dirt road leading through a farm gate that looked as
> if it had never been closed. There was no fence.
>
> As he approached the gate, he saw a man inside, leaning against a tree and
> reading a book.
>
> "Excuse me!" he called to the man. "Do you have any water?"
>
> "Yeah, sure, there's a pump over there, come on in."
>
> "How about my friend here?" the traveler gestured to
> the dog.
>
> "There should be a bowl by the pump."
>
> They went through the gate, and sure enough, there
> was an old-fashioned hand pump with a bowl beside it.
>
> The traveler filled the water bowl and took a long
> drink himself, then he gave some to the dog.
>
> When they were full, he and the dog walked back
> toward the man who was standing by the tree.
>
> "What do you call this place?" the traveler asked.
>
> "This is Heaven," he answered.
>
> "Well, that's confusing," the traveler said. "The man down the road said
> that was Heaven, too."
>
> "Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates?  Nope.
>  That's hell."
>
> "Doesn't it make you mad for them to use your name
> like that?"
>
> "No, we're just happy that they screen out the folks
> who would leave their  best friends behind."
>
> Soooo...
>
> Sometimes, we wonder why friends keep forwarding
> jokes to us without writing a word.
>
> Maybe this will explain.
>
> When you are very busy, but still want to keep in
> touch, guess what you  do? You forward jokes.
>
> When you have nothing to say, but still want to keep
> contact, you forward jokes.
>
> When you have something to say, but don't know what,
> and don't know how, you forward jokes.
>
> Also to let you know that you are still remembered,
> you are still important, you are still loved, you are still cared
> for, guess what you get?  A forwarded joke.
>
> So, next time if you get a joke, don't think that
> you've been sent just another forwarded joke,
> but that you've been thought of today and your
> friend on the other end of your computer wanted to
> send you a smile.
>
>  You are welcome at my water bowl anytime .

From Lester in St. Pete

A man was sitting in a cafeteria next to a blonde woman who was engrossed in her newspaper.
The bold headline read"12 Brazilian Soldiers Killed."
She shook her head at the sad news.
Then turning to the man she asked, "How many is a Brazilian?"

Hurricane Katrina
New Orleans & GULF COAST States Under Water
Hurricane Katrina, America's Worst Tragedy
WOW... What can we say?!?! We were all watching the weather reports on Saturday. Then comes Sunday we couldn't believe where and how strong it was. By 9PM there was a large group of people in our store all watching TV and the tears were already starting!!! Many of us have friends living in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast area. Many more have visited New Orleans many times. Judy B. Goode and many Bay area entertainers  have performed there many times. The French Quarter is truly a home away from home for many, MC Film included as we have been there numerous times. Labor Day Weekend is also a Gay celebration in New Orleans, Southern Decadence with appr. 150,000 attending. Monday, the storm arrived and as expected not much news was coming out of the region. Tuesday was our day off and we both were glued to the TV. Flipping from CNN, FOX & MSNBC all day. We could not believe that there weren't more people on the roof tops. If 20% of the people were still there and 10% were in the shelters. Then 10% were still in their homes. So sadly 1 in 10 homes should have had people on the roofs? Under things that make you say Humm...... WHAT!  President Bush addresses a military group celebrating a war win said that he was "cutting his 5 week vacation short 2 days" and going to his air conditioned and dry White House to organize a relief effort.??????? We are sure this would make the people, on roof tops holding their children, waiting to be rescued feel better!!!!! Then while Americans are dieing the Bush Administration seemed more interested in the oil then lives! Wednesday on ABC TV's, Good Morning America, the Mayor of New Orleans said that "he has not seen any Federal Government help yet", (3 days after the storm).  I do know that Americans care about Americans. Supplies, water, medical help and generous givings are going to be arriving soon. We do believe in the motto of Key West -One Human Family.
Those people deserved help yesterday, not tomorrow!
Pray for the Gulf Coast Americans now turned refugees!
